UAE Tugboat Sinks, Three Indonesians Go Missing

(MENAFN) Three crew members from Indonesia remain unaccounted for after a UAE-registered tugboat caught fire and sank in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, according to reports citing Indonesia's Foreign Ministry.

The vessel, identified as Musaffah 2, reportedly exploded before going down in the waters separating the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Four Indonesians were on board at the time of the incident, with one survivor currently receiving treatment for burn injuries at a hospital in Oman.

Authorities from both the UAE and Oman are said to be carrying out search and rescue operations while investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
